Effective tips and tricks to groom your pet
Your pets not only deserve your affection and love, but also effectual grooming. It is something that enhances their longevity, as well as keeps them adorable all the time. Moreover, it needs to be scheduled, i.e., you need to do it regularly. It is an important part of animal hygiene. If you haven’t started yet, ensure to start it now.
Here are some opportune pet grooming tips you need to follow next time you tidy up your animal companion:
Check for ticks whilst brushing
Though it’s obvious, you should take more care while brushing your pet and look carefully for ticks. There are several distinct types of ticks, which vary in size. Hence, you need to pay close attention to those.
Use different tendering for different coats
One of the many pet grooming tips is tendering according to the animal coat, which many people ignore only to find their importance later. It’s not simple brushing up; it’s tendering your pet! So, you need to do it according to their hair.
-
For smooth, short coats –
Use a simple rubber brush first, followed by a bristle brush. Thereafter, polish your pet’s hair with a chamois cloth.
-
For short, dense coats –
First, use a slicker brush to detangle pet hair. Then, use a bristle brush.
-
For long coats –
Take some additional care while removing mats. Start with a slicker brush to detangle the hair, followed by a bristle brush.
Tail and feet are important when grooming
While tendering your pet, especially after a bath, ensure to tender the tail and feet. This is important for pets with longer coats.
Do a complete shampoo and rinse cycle
This is one of those pet grooming tips that everybody knows, but most don’t follow. Using a shampoo for your pet, especially if it’s a dog, is a good practice. Make sure you properly rinse all the shampoo out of your pet’s hair. Leaving it on the hair can cause skin irritation.
Keep a low heat setting while blow drying
If you use a blow dryer for drying up your pet after a good bath, make sure to use it in a low heat setting. Moreover, you need not place the hot thing directly pointed towards your pet. Many pets, most notably dogs, find it irritating and confounding when hot air is thrown on their face.
Use lukewarm water for giving them a bath
Animal skin is more susceptible to extreme temperatures than the human skin. This applies to their bathing too. Hence, neither an extremely cold water bath nor a shower in boiling hot water should be given to the pet. Remember to use lukewarm water to bathe your pet.
Follow these effective pet grooming tips to give the best care and tendering your pet deserves from you.
